Volodymyr Lytvyn, the Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine on Monday has held the Meeting with the President of the NATO PA John Tanner, in the Course of which the Number of the Issues on Internal Political Situation in Ukraine and certain Aspects of its International Policy were discussed
During the conversation the Parties emphasized the importance of the strengthening in the cooperation between Ukrainian Parliament and NATO Parliamentary Assembly. V. Lytvyn declared that "our cooperation should achieve new content and new quality in the course of its development".
V. Lytvyn announced that the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine on the 6th of April has adopted the Appeal to the Congress of the United States of America on the importance of the resumption of the cooperation concerning the utilization of the rocket fuel remaining in Ukraine after its renunciation of nuclear weapon.
John Tanner mentioned that Ukraine was the first country he is visiting on the post of the NATO Parliamentary Assembly President and stressed that the Alliance supported the steps on Ukraine on the way to European Integration.
